Another necessary skill is being able to sell your services. Being a salesperson is not suited for everyone. However, most wedding couples will prefer to meet with person that will photograph their wedding. In that case it is better to show than tell. Allow your album samples and wall displays to speak for you. Either the prospects will like your work or they will not. Ask questions to find out what they are looking for in a photographer. Then, with your price lists, show them how they can get everything they desire. Do not expect prospects to hand you a deposit immediately. Also, do not be afraid to ask for a retainer to book the date. Remember, if they walk out the door without giving you a signed contract and retainer then you will not hear back from most of them.
